CULTURAL GENOCIDE...WHOA!

Recently a PA. lawmaker was talking about the out of control gun violence plaguing certain areas of Philadelphia. He said whats going on in Philadelphia is "Cultural Genocide". Wow! Tough talk for sure. Of course he is right and candid at the same time. Unusual for a politician of any stripe.

Philadelphia is the undisputed leader in at least two categories these days. The first is wanton handgun murder. The second of course is political corruption / incompetence. I think they pretty much go hand and hand.

Per capita, Philly has nearly as many murders as Baghdad. That's ASTOUNDING! What's even more astounding is that outside of Philly this story gets little or no attention. The bulk of the MSM locally is solely focused on the issue of firearms as usual. It's a liberal Democrat run town (5 to 1 Demo. to Repub.) so they stick to the tired old play book about it's the guns behind all these killings. Yawn.

That brings me to the picture of Winston Churchill. Aside from the fact that it's just the coolest picture, (Can you imagine a politician today striking that pose?) it represents the crux of Philly's murder cult. The "Gangster Mentality". Poor, urban gangsters who have no value system, morals, conscience, remorse, or sympathy. Products of the drug culture they stalk our streets wreaking violence on anyone who crosses them.

Objectively speaking, Philly's murder problem is largely (statistically accurate) a problem of poor, urban, black males. That doesn't make it any less of a problem. But that does present a problem as far as a solution. Pennsylvania is largely a rural state. It's State Legislature is predominately dominated by suburban lawmakers who happen to be largely white. The NRA is a significant power in this state. So what does that mean? It means that Philly thinks that they can use liberal policies (like ultra restrictive gun laws) to solve their problems while ignoring the real social issues, like the rise of the super-predator, the dissolution of the family and the breakdown of our value system, one where people's lives meant something.

The city wants the power to pass their own gun laws. The State however will not budge. They don't think the locals can be trusted to protect the 2nd Amendment rights of the law abiding citizens of the city. (Like Me) Rightfully so. Plus if Philly can pass their own gun laws, soon Pittsburgh will want to as well. Then Altoona and on and on. Soon the whole state will be a patchwork of confusing, unenforceable laws that make no sense. Spot on there boys.

Plus Philly has shown over and over, time and a gain that the City Government is a cesspool of mismanagement and corruption. The current Police Commissioner doesn't even live in the city, here-to-fore a firing offense! City agencies are routinely taken over, given State oversight, or criticized for failure to perform. The city budget is under a semi-permanent watchdog board (PICA) because we nearly went broke time and again.

So if Philly is allowed to pass it's own gun laws, the first thing you can imagine is a meaningless all out "Assault Weapons" ban, even though I can't remember the last time anyone was killed here with one. It's rare. Funny how they can't eliminate drugs or prostitution from society, but they think they can eliminate guns. Then probably some type of handgun ban. That would be funny because one of the things they railed against was the passage of a Concealed Carry Law. Our officials screamed that this would drive up the murder rate. Well it actually became a de facto registration plan (something they always are in favor of) and to my knowledge there have been less than a handful of permit holders actually killing anyone.

So the Philly leadership keeps fiddling. People will keep dying and until they begin to address the real causes of the murder epidemic the MSM will be complicit in the "Cultural Genocide". Not me.
